Fountain Valley, California

VCA West Coast Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital

Overview

Our team provided full design and construction administration services for this 25,219 SF interior renovation and expansion project.

The MDA design work began with an analysis of the existing hospital spread between an assortment of buildings. All departments had to be relocated into a single vacant Staples building. It was a challenge to fit the various circulation paths connecting different departments into the existing box building. We redesigned their workflows into clear circulation modes, creating a more consistent, effective model that is specific to the hospital’s operational needs.

The 24-hour specialty veterinary hospital offers the latest cutting-edge equipment in the area, including CT Scanning & MRI capabilities. It also has separate cat & dog waiting areas and exam rooms.
