Planning and Consultation
The first step in any project is to understand your goals and planning needs. Each project is unique, and we’re here to create a plan that’s strategically tailored to your business. Planning and consultation services include site development, architectural space planning, ergonomic and flow analysis, and industry specific research.
Workflow Analysis
Process optimization is critical to providing the best care and service possible. We use our architectural and design expertise from numerous industries to ask the right questions and create a space that accommodates efficient movement and maximizes workflow. The process of building new, remodeling, or expanding isn’t a one size fits all, and we’re prepared to help navigate how design can solve your specific challenges.
Preliminary Design
Understanding how you work and interact is the main goal of our preliminary design efforts. We use this knowledge to inform floor plan schemes, building size and massing, and any other programmatic requirements.
Design Development
In design development, your vision comes to life through finish and material selection as we flush out the design concept. We continue to work through architectural detailing while focusing on coordination with all consultants to ensure form meets function in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and structural designs.
Schematic Design
From the preliminary design we can begin to develop site layout, review code analysis and dive deeper into the layout of interior spaces. Working closely with the end user we begin to explore casework, equipment and furniture needs.
Construction Documentation
Once the design has been refined, our team moves into completing the drawing sets for construction, permitting and bid pricing. Our experience and expertise in this area helps ensure your project is detailed and specified for success in construction. During this phase we focus on specifications, plans, elevations, wall sections, finishes and any necessary details.
Construction Administration
When construction is ready to begin, we walk alongside you and support the project to completion. Our project teams review shop drawings and submittals, attend contractor coordination and budget meetings, and are available for any request of information services.
Specifications And Submissions
As an advocate for you,
we're prepared to handle all specification and submission needs. This includes applications and coordination for permitting, preparation of bid packages, invitations, and advertisements, question periods, as well as the receiving of bids along with reviewing and advising selection.
Rick and the team at MD Architects were true partners in the planning, design and construction process. The MD team embraced the many challenges of designing an attractive and highly functional mixed-use building on a small site in the Nickel Plate District of Fishers.
When the inevitable setbacks occurred in the design and construction process, Rick’s team responded with creative, timely and cost-efficient ideas to keep the project moving forward.
